My story…

I was born on the 30 th august 1969 in Saxon, Switzerland. After following my obligatory school, dispatching little drawings all the time on my school’s books, I was already sure about doing a Fine Art’s school later. Before painting, I spent two years in a high college to make studies and I made a trip in Brighton, England where I lived for several months to learn the Shakespeare’s language.

My first contact with painting was watercolour with which I realised my first landscapes. From 1987 to 1989, I finally spent my time at the Fine Art School in Sion, small city next to where I live. At school, I learned different medium like oil, acryl, Chinese ink, pastel and I also did some sculpture. I practise a lot academic drawing. My teacher was really great and I suppose if today, I’m an artist, it is because of him.
I also followed a kind of “apprenticeship” with a well-known painter with who I learned everything about the portrait. When she thought she taught all I have to know, she pointed one thing: Flo, you have to paint, paint and paint again until you’ll find your own style.

I’ve followed her advice and I began to paint. In 1990, I gave birth of a baby girl called Amber. While bringing up alone my little girl, I set out on the footprints of the famous painters like Michel Angelo, Raphael, Botticelli; the academic painters like William Bouguereau and the preraphaellist like Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
I’ve been always inspired by these big lords of the nude and the academic drawing in my painting.

My favourite subjects are the human body and the horses for their wild strength. Today, I work almost only with acrylic colours for all the possibilities this medium can offer. I use sometimes oil and watercolour with my students and sometimes for commissions.
I create also wine and spirit’s label, make illustration for flyers, advertisement and magazine (horoscope) and do fresco outdoors and indoors.

The side of my work I like a lot is the contact with clients during exhibitions or when I’m working commissions. It is always interesting to discuss around the elaboration of a painting.
